COUNCILLOR RAY MCHUGH

Ray McHugh is married to Crumlin woman Phyllis McCabe and have three grown-up children and five grandchildren. Ray has lived in Drimnagh all his life.
Ray retired from Eircom after after 30 years service, and now jobshares as a telephonist in Our Lady's Crumlin Children's Hospital. During his time in Eircom he was deeply involved as a Trade Union activist, and served as committee member, treasurer, and 13 years as Branch Secretary, in the Communication Workers Union (CWU). Ray was a manager of Castle Celtic Boy’s FC Drimnagh Castle for many years, having been Chairperson of St John Bosco FC previously, enjoying many successful seasons in both clubs at various levels
Since being co-opted (to replace Robert Sargent who stood down in 2007)onto the City Council Ray has worked tirelessly to continue to represent the constituents of the Crumlin/Kimmage ward on Dublin City Council.
Councillor Ray McHugh will be standing for election in the Crumlin/Kimmage ward, and when elected Ray will continue campaigning to retain Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin and more facilities for the area, the replacement of many of the outdated senior citizen complexes in the area, funding for the Neagh Road project.
