As a member of Ireland’s only all-Ireland political party, the priorities of Aengus Ó Snodaigh and Sinn Féin are:

Peace Process
Sinn Féin seeks the unity and independence of Ireland. We want an end to partition and the conflict, which has resulted from it. Sinn Féin's peace strategy has been the engine for change. We have transformed Irish politics. We will continue to lead the way by working for the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement.

Economics
Ireland is the eighth richest country in the world yet has the second worst distribution of wealth among industrial countries. It is time to share the wealth. We supports tax reform, increasing social welfare benefits and an increase in the minimum wage. Sinn Féin opposes the bin charges. This is double taxation. It is unfair, unjust and unworkable.

Childcare
Sinn Féin is calling for a state funded childcare system and the incorporation of pre-school funding into education policy. We believe there is an obligation on all employers to provide crèche facilities and the inclusion of crèche and recreation facilities as part of any future housing schemes and public buildings.

Sellafield
Sinn Féin is actively involved in campaigning for the immediate closure of Sellafield. Sellafield is a threat to the very existence of Irish people. A major accident at the plant would cause such devastation on this island that the future of human society here would be in doubt. There can be no compromises with Sellafield. It must be shut down permanently and shut down now.

Health
Sinn Féin supports a free, community based, comprehensive health service. We oppose the current two-tier system as it fails to deliver the health system we deserve. We are calling for the reopening of the Adelaide and the Meath hospitals.

Multi-culturalism
Sinn Féin is opposed to racism and actively embraces the idea of a multi-cultural society. We believe this should be responsibly reflected in government policy.

Drugs
Sinn Féin will continues to play a leading role in tackling the causes and effects of drug abuse throughout the 32 counties constituency and we are working for more resources to do this. He is working for comprehensive treatment and rehabilitation programs for addicts and their families including childcare for those who wish to enter such a program.

Education
Sinn Féin will support and work for an all Ireland education system as the key to a people who are self confident, secure in their identity and open to the world. Within a society based on equality and social justice Sinn Féin will ensure open and full access to all levels of education. We will work for an education system, which addresses and redresses educational and generational disadvantage and puts learners and teachers at the heart of neighbourhood networks.

Transport
Dublin Bus receives the lowest state subsidy in Europe. We argue that this subsidy needs to be dramatically increased if we are to have a transport system that is free, accessible and dependable. We are also calling for an increase in the number of bicycle lanes and the introduction of a school bus system.

Public Services
Sinn Féin opposes the privatisation of State assets and is working for adequate investment in public services and infrastructure. It is only through investment and good management that we can be guaranteed services of the highest quality and standard.

Tenants Rights
Sinn Féin is committed to tackling the issues, which affect the lives of tenants in the private rented sector. He will introduce legislation to cover all aspects of tenant's rights including security of tenure and fixed rents. We propose building state run student accommodation to take students out of the private rented sector.

Housing Crisis
The current housing crisis for home buyers and those on City Council waiting lists can only be resolved by tackling the stranglehold private developers have on the market. Compulsory Purchase Orders should be used to access land to build homes for those who need them. Any housing development including those in the Docklands area must involve full consultation with the community.

Zero Waste
We call for the implementation an all-Ireland zero waste policy. This will involve the establishment of an agency to develop a strategic approach to the financing and implementation of a national waste management plan. Any waste management plan should not include incineration as an option. This plan must include the application of the producer pays' principle and direct funds to local authorities to support recycling, reduction and reuse initiatives.

Senior Citizens
We will implement the following: Proper maintenance and security on all senior citizens housing schemes to ensure tenant safety and comfort. An increase in the old age pension. Access to education, arts and leisure facilities for senior citizens.
